Portage District
Library owes its very existence to volunteers
from the community. Since the library’s
establishment more than thirty years ago, volunteers
have supplemented the efforts of paid library
staff.
We have a Friends
group that coordinates
our quarterly book sales, a corps of volunteers
who help provide and maintain quality library
collections, services, programs, and facilities,
and elected volunteers who serve as our governing
board.
Our volunteer services create opportunities
for people of all ages and walks of life
to provide valuable services to the community,
while gaining the personal satisfaction
that comes from this kind of generosity. If
you
are interested in supporting your library,
please contact
us to find out more about
volunteering.
