Interlibrary Loan

For hard to find books and journal articles, try interlibrary loan. Portage District Library is a member of MeLCat and the Southwest Michigan Library Cooperative, to provide you with access to materials from libraries throughout the state.
If you are unable to locate a title you are looking for in our library catalog, try searching MeLCat. You can directly request items to come from libraries located throughout the state of Michigan. You just need to have your library barcode and an email address.

If you are still unable to locate the title you need, please contact one of our librarian staff for further assistance. You can call 329-4544 or visit Ask a Librarian. In the case of newly released titles, we may be able to purchase the title to add to the Library's collection.

Don't forget about our many reciprocal borrowing agreements with other local libraries. You may be able to find what you need locally and check it out directly! Click on the link to the left for more information about reciprocal borrowing.
