City Records

The Heritage Room contains a wide variety of township and city records for Portage, Michigan. These records are available to view free of charge and may be copied for ten (10) cents per page however they are not allowed to circulate from the building. Due to the sheer volume of the material, virtually all of the city records remain un-catalogued and are housed in a separate storage area requiring an appointment with the local historian to access. Tax Rolls

If you do not see a specific report that you are looking for, it is recommended that you try the on-line catalogue search. A small portion of the city’s more influential reports have been catalogued and placed on the shelves in the public area of the Heritage Room.
