What is Article Search?

Article Search is your best friend for research! It’s free to Portage Library card holders, very easy to use, and sometimes it can save you a trip to the library. Examples of what you can find there:

  • Detailed biographies on almost everyone, living or dead. (Biography Resource Center)
  • Magazine and newspaper articles and reference books selected for their usefulness to students (MAS Ultra)
  • Opposing Viewpoints on current social issues like media violence and animal rights (Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center)
  • Easily searchable statistics on any city in the U.S. (American FactFinder)

How do I use Article Search?

  1. Just click here to go straight to the Article Search list of resources, or click on the Article Search link from our catalog page
  2. Enter your Portage District Library barcode number (on the back of your library card).
  3. Enter your PIN (it’s the last 4 digits of the phone number you had when you signed up for your library card.)
