Located in the lower level of the Portage District Library, the Heritage Room is the repository for the history of the City of Portage. Contained within its walls are numerous books, documents photographs and artifacts relating to Portage, Kalamazoo County and South West Michigan.
The room is open during library hours and is staffed part-time by a local historian. The local historian’s hours vary so please call ahead at (269) 585-8741 to ensure his availability.
