This database of newspapers provides content from Michigan and newspapers, including the Kalamazoo Gazette (back to 2005). It also contains articles from USA TODAY, The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, The Washington Post, and a wide variety of other papers. Genealogists will also find the America’s Obituaries & Death Notices collection very helpful. Most content is provided through the Michigan e-Library, including the Detroit News, Grand Rapids Press, and Traverse City Record Eagle, with the Kalamazoo Gazette content provided through the Portage District Library.

EBSCO LearningExpress is an interactive collection of self-paced online courses and practice tests including the GED; college and graduate school entrance tests such as the ACT, SAT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT GMAT; and professional and or licensing tests from the CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) to the ASVAB, to nursing and real estate. Although Michigan achievement tests, such as the MEAP are not included, reviews geared toward other states’ tests at similar grade levels may be useful preparation tools. This resource also has computer skills courses and tutorials, sections on verbal and mathematical skills building, and hundreds of online PDF titles. You will need to create an account to fully utilize this resource.
