Our Equipment

PDL’s Makerspace is equipped with two laser engravers: xTool P2S Laser Cutter & Engraver and xTool F1 Ultra with conveyor.
Laser Engraving
Staff supervision is required. Please make an appointment.
With our engravers, you can cut or personalize and embellish an endless variety of useful, beautiful, and practical things made from many different materials such as metal, wood, leather, cork, and much more.
Each piece of equipment has different strengths and size requirements, so we will help you determine which one to use depending on your project and the type of material you want to use.
Please review the following, before making an appointment to use our equipment:
- Library staff must approve the material before it is used in our equipment.
- The library reserves the right to refuse cutting or engraving items brought into the Makerspace.
- We highly recommend bringing a test piece of your selected material.
Please email createandmake@portagelibrary.info with questions about the material you want to use or the type of image file required. You may want to reserve time on a Creation Station computer to produce or procure an appropriate image file during our Staffed Hours @ the Makerspace prior to your appointment.
This equipment is not professional grade. Please do not plan on cutting or engraving on irreplaceable, valuable, or expensive items. The library is not liable for loss or damage through use of our Makerspace equipment.
