Yellow – These devices can be used after an initial training appointment or during Staffed Hours.

We have two smart cutting machines available for patrons to use. The Silhouette Cameo 4 and Cricut Maker 3 allow you to create DIY projects with precision. It can be used to cut out fabric patterns or create vinyl decals, and they can cut through a wide array of materials.

Using the Smart Cutters

You can drop in to use the Silhouette Cameo or Cricut Maker or make a reservation.

Before your initial visit, if you have never used a Cricut or Silhouette Cameo before, please drop by during our Staffed Drop-In hours or schedule a One-on-One appointment for a brief orientation on the machine. To schedule a One-on-One appointment, please email Jane Fleming at

Use of the Silhouette Cameo and Cricut Maker is free. Patrons are encouraged to bring their own supplies. Materials can be purchased on Amazon, most big box stores, local craft stores and online craft stores such as Swing Design, Expressions Vinyl, and many more. Orocal and Siser ( for heat transfer vinyl, HTV) are reliable brands as well.

The Portage District Library has a limited supply of 12” x 12” vinyl sheets available for purchase.
